Fight cancer and raise money for the American Cancer Society in the Relay for Life while staying at the Yuba City Hotel Palisade. This 24 hour event begins at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 12th and ends at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 13th. The race will be held at Geweke Field which is less than a mile from our hotel.

You can register as an individual or join a team! Each team has its members take turns to have a member racing during the 24 hour race. This race began in 1985 when one man (Dr. Gordy Klatt) walked for 24 hours to raise money. Since then, this race has spread all over the country to raise money for the American Cancer Society.

There will be a survivors lap from 9- 10 a.m. on Saturday to celebrate survivors. There will also be a Luminaria Ceremony on Saturday night at 10 p.m. to honor those who have been lost to cancer. In addition, there will be some activities going on throughout the event, including Relay Idol, Jug-a-Thon, Relay Olympics, and Slip/Slop/Slap Relay. After a long day (and night) of racing and events, come rest in your comfortable room at our hotel. Relax in the spa, watch a movie in your room, or catch some ZZZs!

On Saturday the 12th there will be a Blue Thunder Speed Attempt followed by an exciting Airshow that includes T-6 formations, a parachute team, ACR racing challenge, and big names like Spencer Suderman, Eric Hansen, Bill Cornick, Reno Air Racers, and Team Rocket. That night, after dinner on the field, the movie Fly Boys will be shown.

On Sunday the 13th, there will be model airplanes, another Blue Thunder speed attempt, and workshops. Workshops will cover topics from flying the SR- 71 to Sport Pilots to affordable flying and many more. Military fly bys will also be occurring throughout the weekend with times to be announced.

The show will be open from 8 am to 5 pm each day. Tickets can be purchased online and at $22 for all three days of the festivities, it is quite the bargain. So, book your tickets for this year’s Golden West Regional Flyin’ Airshow and book a room at the Yuba City Hotel Palisade.

It is an annual bike event that is celebrating 25 yrs. with all the proceeds going to the YSCDSG. The event is organized by the Yuba/Sutter Childrens Type 1 Diabetes support group.
