Fight cancer and raise money for the American Cancer Society in the Relay for Life while staying at the Yuba City Hotel Palisade. This 24 hour event begins at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 12th and ends at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 13th. The race will be held at Geweke Field which is less than a mile from our hotel.
You can register as an individual or join a team! Each team has its members take turns to have a member racing during the 24 hour race. This race began in 1985 when one man (Dr. Gordy Klatt) walked for 24 hours to raise money. Since then, this race has spread all over the country to raise money for the American Cancer Society.
There will be a survivors lap from 9- 10 a.m. on Saturday to celebrate survivors. There will also be a Luminaria Ceremony on Saturday night at 10 p.m. to honor those who have been lost to cancer. In addition, there will be some activities going on throughout the event, including Relay Idol, Jug-a-Thon, Relay Olympics, and Slip/Slop/Slap Relay. After a long day (and night) of racing and events, come rest in your comfortable room at our hotel. Relax in the spa, watch a movie in your room, or catch some ZZZs!
